    2022/23 Neal Maupay

Can't understand Dyche's thinking bringing Maupay on ahead of Simms. Former one goal in twenty-seven, Simms a goal-scorer and more of a CL like-for-like. Hope this bizarre favouritism doesn't cost us! Maupay offers little. A goal whilst welcome, it would be a surprise.

    2022/23 Abdoulaye Doucouré

Reminds me of the dancing man Bez from the Happy Mondays, lots of movement but doesn't really contribute to the finished product. Gray should have been brought on to replace him last night.

    2022/23 Ellis Simms

Pleased for the lad. Probably should have had more game time than he's had in recent weeks. He has done something Maupay seems incapable of - scored a goal! It was a boost for everyone.

    Erling Braut Haaland

Haarland is phenomenal. He has a real chance given the games and competitions remaining of passing the 60-goal in a season mark and Dixie Dean's record. Quite something.

    2022/23 Ellis Simms

In the first half we created lots of chances, especially with McNeil getting crosses into the near post, no-one seemed to be there anticipating it. We know what we'll get with Maupay (not much and no end product), perhaps this was the home game for the youngster, maybe he'd have been getting on...

    2022/23 Abdoulaye Doucouré

He reverted to playing the ball backwards most of the time this evening. Not even facing forwards - receive pass, dink it back. Frustrating to watch.

Lampard Sacking Not Official Yet; Maybe More to Come.

Really bizarre, still nothing (7:30pm) on the official website! Not seeing mention of the game on Saturday either (women's win v West Ham on though). You have entered the Twilight Zone!

    Sgt Peppers.......

Not my favourite Beatles album, but all good tracks - even Within You Without You (like Love take on it), Beatles take it to another level as they innovate and astound. Great that it's Giles Martin, son of George, taking on the mantle, now part of the inner circle. Will be interesting to see...

    Leon Osman

Never understood the bile on here about Leon Osman. A good servant to the club, scored a lot of goals. Not involved much last season - that went well. Time to move on, enjoy a few more seasons of football elsewhere. Good luck to him. Hope we move on too.

    Baines: We have no chemistry

Lack of chemistry suggests that the players don't trust each other on the pitch reflecting in the movement or lack of it - and confidence. The team is less than the sum of the parts for some reason.

Match Thread Everton Vs Chelsea - FA Cup Quarter Final - Sat 12th March - KO 17:30

This game is dire. Not quite lived up to its BBC billing.

    New Stadium or Redeveloped Goodison?

New stadium, modern, fit for the future. Downside with the park site is the lack of pre-match hang-outs building up atmosphere; a part of match days.

LFC fan takes homeless EFC fan to a Goodison match, helps him rebuild his life - sadly a fake story

I've seen it pop up a couple of times now on Facebook. People still taking it at face value.

Poll: The Most Influential Band/Artist of All Time

Beatles by some way. Still shifting units and resonating. A lot of serendipity involved, which adds to the story. Timing (Zeitgeist), making do (technology, and pushing it), innovation and pushing boundaries. Mick Jagger referred to them as the 'Four-headed Monster' - the sum of the parts...
