Just got home. Didn’t have a ticket, left at about 11:30 - but what an experience on Goodison Road. Absolutely amazing.
Disappointed but not surprised they couldn’t get the coach down. The atmosphere was incredible regardless.
And to make up...
The occasion was more important than the match but I'm glad and relieved that we won.
There were lots of tears before , during and after the game and a lot of them were mine.
I'll get back to the pundits talking about it all.
My dad unfortunately passed away two months ago and I'm gutted he didn't get to see our final game at Goodison. Makes me think about the tens of thousands of blues who've graced Goodison over the years but who didn't get to see the old lady off...
History will show we finished above United and Spurs in our last season at Goodison . Just hope nobody digs a little deeper .
Thank god we got Davy when we did .
I’ve been going to GP for over 60 years and for me it’s not the ground that makes it special it’s the people, supporters, players, the employees etc. Fortunately the vast majority will be going to BMD and the spirit of our club will continue……
We knew he was only getting 15/20 mins before the game started. Shouldn’t be a surprise.
It’s a bit sad for all of us to go out this way but thank you for the loyalty and servitude.
