…terrific piece of business bringing the lad in for £1m and turning him into an England international striker. Pity the curse of the thigh muscles curtailed his rise but he should always be remembered as one of ours.
Good luck to you.
It's funny reading some of the posts on here slagging him for not signing a new contract. Robbing the club of a future transfer fee. If he'd have signed a new contract, the same posters would probably be fuming about not being able to sell him...
But it wasn’t a 3 month purple patch. Like, that’s completely false.
He got 13 in the league in 19/20 and 16 in the league 20/21. Scored in the opening 3 games under Benitez and then got injured.
His career was on upwards trajectory.
Pointless...
Not pinging 90 yarders to his head with no support. Carlo sussed it - stay in the box, get some decent crosses and he’s sound. It astounds me that people cannot see it.
Blaming him for the relegation scraps is a bit much considering the managers we have had in charge and the style of football they wanted to play.
I’m guessing it his fault we got point deductions as well?
They were Utd youth together, known each other a long time, nothing to see here. I don't think Garner would be cheering him on in his dubious sexual antics like.
