I disagree. Every Premier League club needs a backup keeper of proven PL standard. Show me one club that doesn't. We have to plan for what happens if Pickford is injured or suspended. The backup keeper has to be totally dependable because keeper errors cost points and every point is vital.
I recall we were linked with him in 2009 before he ended up signing for Spurs. Better late than never. Bagging him on a free would be a fantastic piece of business, and a big boost to the team on and off the pitch.
