Triggered the option sounds like the deal at that price was already pre agreed, hence maybe why it’s only two years.

Maybe that’s what was in the option Thelwell negotiated, hence the wording from the club. If we reopened the deal perhaps it would have invited competition from other clubs. Maybe it was take it or leave it.
