    Thornton 3 Ashton 2 Thornton remain unbeaten from first 3 games. Looked to be coasting at 2-0 but Ashton fought back to make it 2-2. Winner in the last 5 minutes clinched the points.

    Thornton Cleveleys v Ashton Athletic today for me, NWCL first division north. Thornton with 2 clean sheets away from home so far this season, had a decent start. Couldn’t win many at home last season, so hoping for a change in that from today.

    Opening Day of National League today. En route to South Shields, for Marine's opener. Got the rest of my life for the new stadium, so opted to avoid more friendlies. Should be a good day, about 50 Marine expected to travel.

    The queues in thr North Stand area were really bad. 20 mins to even get in the ground. Big queues for the toilet, and big queues for a drink. I can imagine many fans will need to stretch half time over 20-25 mins.
