Don’t go to Paulsgrove, ever! Southsea is nice for a day and Hailing Island.

Southampton has one of the best municipal golf courses in the country. I remember Fore! magazine described one of the par 3s on the course as one of the best in the country as well.

We started out in a married quarters flat in Eastney but got moved to a house on Portsdown Hill. Wonderful views of The Solent and IOW. Especially for the 50 years D-Day celebrations.

Portsmouth is a wonderful place to live. If you play golf you are very lucky. Pubs and restaurants are excellent in Old Portsmouth. Southsea Common is much used for events in the warmer months. Royal Naval dockyard is worth a visit. HMS Victory...

That would be terrifying.
