I thought that myself about the fans dipping away for the middle section of Spurs south stand. It seem so obvious but Populous have designed it that way even though they say Daniel Levy was “obsessed” with making sure it had a great atmosphere.

Ok mate, it’s on schedule. I’ve been fitting the flooring to the kitchens in the West stand.

A fella walks round the site every day now, inside and out, with a huge bird of prey.

Reading a few Spurs forums and they all seem to believe the atmosphere at their new stadium is crap and it was much better at White Harte Lane. There stadium has steep stands etc and the big South stand, too. Apparently, their South stand was marketed to them as a “huge megaphone” but it...

But would the tread depths, sight lines, stand rake allow it in the upper section?

I don’t think the ratio will ever get beyond 1.1:5 in this country so they’ve probably done the right thing. Do you have any idea if the upper section of the South stand could ever be converted to standing?

I know. They will not be able to increase their capacity when the ratio changes though. We will.

No, because the tread depth and fire exits etc all have to be able to cope. For example, if/when the ratio changes, Anfield/Etihad/Emirates etc won’t benefit from a capacity increase.

It works perfectly fine at higher ratio Germany though. I think it’s only a matter of time , I think the club do to or they wouldn’t have spent the extra money making sure the concourses etc are big enough to handle the extra people.

That’s not right. If the safe standing ratios change, it goes to 16,000 (presuming it’s still 13k capacity at the moment) Maybe they’re thinking, when the ratio changes, it would then be bigger than Spurs South stand if it’s current capacity is 14,800.

As mentioned previously, the stadium quiz now mentions the South stand capacity as 14,800. Have the club mentioned anywhere else previously that stands capacity is now that new number? Or is that the first anyone’s heard of that?

I can honestly say, the drone videos and photos don’t even begin to do it justice. It’s fantastic.

The Top Balcony is 38 degrees. Not allowed to build that steep in this country anymore. I think the upper Tiers at BMD are 35/36 degrees. Not sure about the lower tiers. The whole stadium looks very steep in the flesh though, the South stand especially.
