I said 15k a week. Which if he is injured is 60k a month - in premier league terms it is nothing? I mentioned a 30k goal bonus - to pay 180k a month he would need to score 4 goals. Well worth it but purely speculative.
It is odd he is considered an Everton great/legend given his paltry goal return and one cup win (which he was on the sidelines for)
I suppose all it does is highlight how much of a non event it has been supporting Everton for the last 30 years.
I actually at the time preferred Paul Rideout and later on Kevin Campbell. There was even a time I preferred Graham Stuart, maybe they weren't matchwinners but they were reliable and never left the team with a man less.
I get that view, I really do, but he was a focal point for a lot of kids who never had much else at the club to idolise. He may not be a legend performance wise, but I think he is an idol. Somebody who you know loves Everton like we do.
Years...
I disagree the modern day Everton that began in the 90s may fit the trend but the Everton that existed before that was a different beast altogether imho.
Of course it is lower. If the top players are stockpiled at the top 3 clubs in each league. Then the standard of the rest will be lower. 40 years ago each club had a star flair player. Now they leave immediately for the top clubs.
