Know a lot of Wednesday fans.
Basically for years the owner turned into a spoilt brat (its his families money and not his) after failing to get into the premier league. He pulled any funding, they've dropped two divisions, had points deductions...
Don't entirely agree (dont think the lad is aggressive enough to get high figures) and we won't see anything consistent for another 2 seasons. I want to be proved wrong.
However, some will expect an instant impact for the price
It was comparing them at the same age and the difference in type of player.
When Gordon was 20/21 he played 40 games for us with 4 goals and 2 assists in a relegation dog fight. The following season he was sold for £45mill.
There'll be a huge...
Hes nowhere near as aggressive or quick as Gordon. More like an Ndiaye or Grealish type in style. Probably not going to hound a defence/fullback as much as Gordon would.
Technically he's probably more gifted with the ball at his feet but Gordon...
It’s starting to border on obscene figures in that case, as we’re paying for the fact that he will “likely” be a good player in a couple of years.
And I worry that the figure will be used as a stick to beat him with when he isn’t pulling up...
That's where we disagree.
[Edit] Take all 4, take their best ever goalscoring season (so 7 from McNeil rather than his career average of 3 etc) and assume they'll replicate that next season and it's still not that.
