I hate to say it, as I don't like the idea, but we're not nasty enough on the pitch. I've played Sunday football mainly in Cheshire and Manchester, and have always hated coming up against Scouse teams. Great blokes off the pitch, but on the pitch they are always the gobbiest, narkiest, hardest...

I've got similar plans, except my Wolfsburg train is booked for Thursday afternoon, returning at 10:something. I am wondering if I should have booked similar times though, to allow more time in Wolfsburg and avoid the risk of missing the train back.

It's probably me you mention - I booked over the phone as I wanted to ask about lower v upper. The guy said the preferred options were either to collect from Goodison or to use special delivery @£6, as Lille won't reprint the tickets if lost. (English clubs do reprint tickets as I've managed it...

They told me over the phone that there were only about 1,000 lower tier, so most are upper. The guy also said that they couldn't say where they were allocating tickets - just upper or lower.

I've booked a hotel near the station, via hotels.com. Meininger Hotel - looks ok and was £80 for 2 nights with 24-hour cancellation. Must get the train booked!

Yeah, I'm doing similar. East Midlands to Berlin early Wednesday, returning Friday morning. I fancied a bit of time in Berlin. Planning to stay 2 nights in Berlin, as there's late trains back from Wolfsburg, and no hotels left anywhere near the ground when I booked. Not booked trains yet though.
