I think it was actually an appearance on behalf of a Palace player's testimonial (Freedman??? or someone) - it just happened to be against Fulham. From what I have seen it wasn't Fulham parading him - a host of ex-Palace players were actually there.

True. I do seem to recall an interview or two though where his response to direct questions didn't exactly come across as amazingly pro-kirkby. As you say though, all he cares about is on the pitch, and it isn't really his place to be commenting much on Kirkby.

I don't know if he has ever actually come out against Kirkby.... But I don't really recall him championing it at all (I discount 'his' statement on the DK site from early on as this is clearly an exercise in PR/spin from the club ).

Re: the call in, to the best of my knowledge the verdict is given to the petitioners (is that the correct term?) - or in other word Tesco and Everton. It is then up to them when and how they communicate this into the public domain, if at all.

If true, this is the sort of news I have been really hoping to hear. However, the team on the pitch is my first priority and I hope it doesn't rock the boat at this delicate and important time with regard to transfers, especially with the first kick off not far away. I see two scenarios...
