Fair point. If i was a manager looking to buy ross last summer, id have found it more sense to revisit the situation in Jan. Pay say 35m for Ross in August, have him sidelined until now, or leave it until Jan and get 10-15m shaved off. No brainer IMO. 10-15m means sod all to Chelsea, but...
