For ten minutes or more in the first half Kone was on the left of a back five ! with Rom isolated up front. The same Rom who lashed out a few rollockings to colleagues during the game.
Yep it was. 3 - 0 to the Blues on our way to the FA Cup win and I was at Wembley for it!
Re "oldie history" - I was taken to a few games as a nipper but the first one I can actually remember was 27/2/1954 in the then Second Division. Everton 8 (eight!) Plymouth 4 (four) !! Could not forget that!!
Glad City won. If we have to play them we are a bit of a jinx team for them. GP would be rocking in a home tie v them. Also, we do not now have to contemplate playing Chelsea without a (if fit) Lukaku against his parent club.
Words to this effect - "Man Utd are out and Man City need replay but all the other top teams - Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are through." Spot the missing link!!
I actually think we have begun to strike up a relationship with Barca. Roberto is Catalonian (a la Barca) - not Spanish - and Del Boy may be the first of several exciting "arrangements". January window may be very interesting!
BTW (mundanity) Barca's red and blue strip was allegedly...
Sorry - been away a few days and seems like a few on here think I have been spinning a yarn. Not so.
Anyway, Jim ran Uncle Jacks (as in Walker) in Darwen and always had visiting fans in before Blackburn games - not afterwards. He tells me pre match was sometimes horrendous, all the usual stuff...
Any fairly old Blues ever go to Uncle Jacks pub in Darwin before Blackburn away games in the early/mid 1990s?
I have a message from the then owner, Jim.
