Absolutely horrible and thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. And supporters of all teams he has played for - obviously been a big part of their history and narrative too. No-one should be trying to monopolise grief over this...

It's not a zero sum game: they don't have to accept being 4th choice. They just have to accept not being a regular starter. Whoever they are, they will get game time across the season, be it through injuries, rotation, or in cup competitions...

Quite a lot apparently, but not as much as for Beto, who, iirc, was considered 'dud' until he got a run and a bit of a chance. He got injured last August and isn't now last I heard. Let him get a decent pre season and a run of games and see how...
