    Last I heard he was coaching at Newcastle, is he still there. Amazing how some faces fit at the club, in terms of old boys and some that don’t. Waggy is a true Everton legend, love to see him back connected with the club some how, warrior.

    I always remember this. When john fashanu was asked who the toughest centre back was in the league at the time he replied the two boys at Everton. Watson and keown. I hit them hard but they dont flinch and hit me back just as hard.

    Was reading his bio at the Chelsea game that adorns the interior of the main stand and it said he scored 37 goals. I instantly thought what wouldn't we give for our attacking midfielders to score 37 across their Everton career!

    "If in doubt, put it out." My kind of defender. Clear man and ball and ask questions later. We so sorely miss such a player, but then such players are almost extinct in the modern game in Europe.

    What a guy. What a defender. What a legend. The 90s were rough time but Dave never let us down. What a captain he was. Great player. One of my faves from my childhood.

    Got introduced to him in the rams head in grappenhall in the 1990s. Very nice, humble guy and very witty. Excellent captain for us too.,
