The optimist in me says that Martinez is delaying his decision to see how the Pereira situation pans out. He doesn't want to say "I'm leaving" and then find out we're not giving him the job. The pessimist in me is saying that Pereira is using Everton to get a better contract offer from Porto.

They have two lines (unsubstantiated) about Pereira possibly being offered a new contract, and a 'full story' behind a paywall. No credibility from what I can see.
