    2020/21 Jordan Pickford

Totally agree. And really, what more can you possibly expect from him? Or from anyone? Jordan is playing lights out right now and I for one find his performance thrilling to watch.

    2020/21 James Rodriguez

We get the NFL playoffs and the College championship game but when you talk “football” in Colombia there’s no mistaking what the subject is. I thought the US fan base would catch fire after their national selection made a fine run at the Brazil World Cup but I’m still waiting. Are the Premier...

    2020/21 James Rodriguez

We definitely need James and Yerry to be healthy and strong for Everton’s run to the title. Here in Colombia I rely on both of them to get me out of every appointment, duty, obligation, shopping trip, and honey do, and they are excuse number one when I forget to do something. “Ah que pena...

Nice open free for all. Lots of honest blokes weighing in. Enjoying the differences of opinion. Not much ass kissing in this group.

    2020/21 James Rodriguez

They’re being pretty quiet about it but I’m inclined to believe the company line: he’s reinjured his calf. That’s bad news but it would be worse if they rush his recovery. This calf thing has been nagging him for years. I recall when the Golden State Warriors rushed Kevin Durant’s rehab so he...

Not fair! Can’t find Bovril here. But I takes me bovril straight up with some roasted potatoes or in a good hot stew. Even a piece of well done toast will do in a pinch. Haven’t tried piña but don’t think I’d like it.

Yeah. I’m hurtin’ for you guys. But I’m in Medellin heading for Santa Marta. Risky travel but they got fewer cases than we do.

My pleasure. Funny thing but Colombia is very proud to have a few players in PL. Everybody lives or dies by their performance in every match. It’s truly a big deal. Lots of pressure I imagine.

Excellent! 9 months in the house (feel like a mushroom) but me and the wife are gonna go build sand castles on the Caribbean coast tomorrow. Can’t wait to get outta here.

I replied to you somewhere in this string but I’m about as high tech as a fat TV. I don’t expect to find Colombian players using cold weather and rain as an excuse but Ive seen others throw it out there. That would be a non starter with me since I’ve never been so cold and wet in my life as at...

Yep. Was in your beautiful country a year ago. Took the wife on her first tour of England. Visited Cambridge friends and hung out in the Lake District. Spent a few days in London. We were headed back for a repeat this fall but it wasn’t to be.

Been preoccupied all week with James rehab. That recurring calf injury has nagged him for years. It’s a bad injury for any athlete IMO. Worse than a knee tear. Rather see him get good care and a cautious re-entry than play 3/4 speed or worse.

I hope the answer is yes! I don’t buy into the “cold weather” theory but I admit it’s got legs. Thing is, Bogotá night games are often played in the rain and the temps are rarely above 10 at any time of the year. So it’s not like Colombians grew up playing in Southern California.

I wouldn’t want to offend anyone but I was never able to eat black pudding. However I devoured a Bandeja Paisa on my first trip to Colombia many years ago and when my Colombian wife told me what Morcilla was it didn’t matter. I was hooked. So I can’t compare but I can’t imagine anything beats...
