Terrible peacetime politician, good wartime leader at least that's what I reckon.
He was great as a figure head and for rhetoric during the Second World War but a lot of what he did just built upon the systems put in place by Lloyd George (who could be viewed in much the same way as Churchill)...
Beckford only ever played well with Becchio at Leeds and it looked like him and Saha struck up quite a rapport today. Hopefully they'll do it in actual games as well.
I don't know if I like Rodwell as an attacking midfielder. He has had success in these pre season games but against real opposition I don't believe he will be anywhere nezr as effective. Plus I still think he'd make a fantastic ball palying centre back who could make occasional lung busting runs...
And I'd keep Arteta in his deep lying position where he'd provide the creativity for a powerful pacy frontline or Vaughan, Anichebe and Cahill supporting Beckford. With that much strength and speed upfront we'd score shitloads. Just look at Villa their attack is all power and pace and not only...
What's good football without the results though. Plus there's always going to be [Poor language removed] loads pof creativity in a side which has Arteta and Gueye (though he might not be ready for the first team). I for one also think Heitnga's lasewr guided passes forward are a thing of beauty.
That's what I meant. Fellaini wins the ball gives it to Arteta who plays it to any of the front four and then goes to join the attack himself while Fellaini sits back and get's ready to deal with any breaks. Simple.
You're right what was I thinking Gueye doesn't have anywhere near the experience to paly in the hole. Fellaini did a good job there a couple of years back though and i suppose there is always Cahill.
He can he's got pace enough to worry any player and he's stronger than most fullbacks other than big bad Branislav at Chelsea. He'd also be perfect for flick ons to the striker. Just think Vic on one wing , Vaughany on the other and Guye in behind. Beckford could have 30 goals this season!
I personally wouldn't mind Arteta moving back to the wing. We already have plenty of talent in the centre in the shape of Rodwell and Fellaini and Arteta would probably do a lot more out on the wing than Bilyaletdownov has.
