The reason he's paid £1m a year is because he's supposed to know that somebody like Beto isn't good enough to contribute, and that a £25m albatross around the club's neck is worse than signing nobody.

I've had plenty of negative things to say about him down the years, and that'll no doubt be the case again before the season is out, but there are times where I have to appreciate what a pro he is.
