I remember when Brian Labone played in one of them as a very young player, on a Friday night if I’m not mistaken, it wasn’t long after he was in the first team.
….i read that as though they were playing against each other but I’ve worked out they both have games on Monday
Moyes will pick his travelling squad regardless.
I am reminded of 60s when there was always a pre-season game v our reserve...
His movement off the ball is very impressive as is his anticipation for the ball, he smells the moves like a natural poacher of goals, love the kid. I thought he had gone on the American tour wondered why he didn’t play.
….movement off the ball is impressive, in the lead up to that 1st goal he’s dropping deep then playing on the shoulder. Robbie Keane vibes for me but some of his movement is Rooney-like.
What I’ve seen of Clarke for such a big lad he doesn’t like the hard stuff, bit like Dowell good footballer but doesn’t do enough off the ball and loses the ball too easily.
Okoronkwo in particular has been invisible.
Heath has been lively but can’t seem to dictate anything from the midfield, not really making an impact.
I’m still not sold Clarke is ready to step up to this level. Obviously great physicality but...
Eyes will always beat stats, “ He made 150 passes” doesn’t tell you that half of them was backwards and sideways, plenty three yard passes to a teammate, a few back to the keeper etc etc, if you like stats fair enough but better keeping them to...
Nonsense. Stats do my head in.
I’m not talking about out watching a player for 1 game mate, you would follow it up with a few viewings to see if they are consistent and their performance is consistent over time. You don’t need stats for that...
Well I remember talking to Brian Labone and asked him that question. “ Does it bother you Brian if a player gets paid more than you” he replied “ No it doesn’t bother me but if I find out about it then I’m right in to see the boss about it and...
One relatively poor season doesn’t mean he is suffering from burnout, got to agree though he made a huge mistake with Palmer, he’ll regret that for a long time.
