Miss the embargoes from the days there was no X/Twitter. The last time I can recall it was when we were supposedly signing Wagner Love from CSKA Moscow.
if the window shut tomorrow I’d be both upset and angry . The fact that there are 4 weeks to our first game and about 6 (I think ) til it does means I’m fairly confident we’ll be getting players in.
We certainly need players and a fair few of...
The quality of signigs are better this year. Not that they were bad the last few etc. But we usually have around 10 in and 10 out. Which again has pretty much happened this year. It's the injuries that mess the team up. Summed up by 2 ACL's in...
Good to see the Women's team getting the investment. Hopefully it works out for them. I try to keep up but will make more of an effort this year and of course having home games at Goodison should be a big draw.
Signings bring excitement, it's...
All very good points and unlike previous windows it won't be lack of budget that might be avaiable, moreso we still have a PSR ceiling over us, without having PSR issues per se, until commercial revenues increase far beyond current levels we will...
Interesting.
So , considering the general consensus is that we are at least five players short of a squad your contention is that every player we have selected to fill those positions is either reluctant to join or touring Japan .
We are either...
I don't think so. That time of the window is really only for putting a cherry on an already nicely decorated cake.
It's fine to get a few loans in then, as players become available.
You have to have your main business done though.
There can...
The last example I can remember of us waiting to the last minute and getting a really great deal was when we got Lukaku. Is there a more recent example of a great last minute signing in late August?
Apparently the recruitment team and kinnear go to TFG when they have identified a player and are maybe in discussions. So maybe there isn’t an actual figure of how much they have, maybe it’s a figure that keeps us under PSR??
Talk (from some article in the last few days) is we had £150m to spend. Whether that’s cash available or how much we can stretch to PSR wise, I don’t know.
But we have spent circa £50m so far. So potentially another £100m available.
Edit. It...
You'd wonder what the remaining budget is. How many more £25m-£30m signings could we afford? I'd guess 2. And have funds leftover to do loan deals?
Obviously there are some funds available and it's because of that primarily I expect to see...
