Checked Test Event 2 and it's has the barcode on the '2nd page'. I would think not every phone will have NFC on it, especially older phones, so it could allow entry to both ways.

Going by my other Everton electronic tickets it's a barcode.

Google Wallet doesn't need a connection, just make sure its there before you get to the stadium and turn your phones screen brightness up so the turnstile reader sees the code.

I don't mind him, he gets some very good info and knows how to get answers. The best drone fliers are Michael Thomas, CP Overview and then Mr Drone. The ones I don't like are School of Science Luke (talks some tish in his commentary) and Above us Only Sky.
