If he wants to go, he’s gone. And in that event, we’d probably have to settle on the fee, too. We may be financially secure and have no need to sell, but if staying with us for another year isn’t as attractive to him as the alternative, we’re stuck.

It’s by far and away the best position we’ve been in for decades. Having said that, if we don’t win a trophy next season, beat all the big sides away from home, and win the Conference League the season after that it’ll be embarrassing.
