Depressing, but most likely true. The bottom end of the league will be significantly stronger next season, and we will have sold Branthwaite and Onana and replaced them with cheaper, worse players.

Begs the question why he spent most of his press conference explaining how it wasn't his fault.

I’d be shocked if we’re not, honestly.

It’s happened with our last 3 managers now. My kopite mates always give me stick about how “it’s always the manager’s fault”, but Benitez, Lampard and Dyche would all have been sacked significantly earlier by any other club in the league.

Been watching us for ~35yrs. Not sure I can remember a worse performance.

Thing is… I don’t think he is. I honestly don’t think there’s anything he could do - short of possibly punching Moshiri (if he could find him - dare say he’s scuttled off again after showing his face last night) that would get him the bullet.

Is he trying to get sacked? I can’t think of another explanation for the tactical choices in the last two games

That’s not really an option though. Long since stopped watching any football other than Everton. It’s only the emotional connection that makes that hard to walk away from. Been a long time since there was actually any joy in the experience.
