We are doing this as we are hiring a car. Duty free you can take 1 litre of spirit and 5l of wine/beer per person. Obviously just take more and hope you don't get caught. If you do, it pay duty or probably seized. Worth the risk though!

We are flying stansted too Basel and hiring a car for dirt cheap. Gonna do a quick beer run into Germany, to a aldi, where I assume it will be at least 3 times as cheap as in Switzerland. Hopefully don't get stopped going over the border and have to pay duty on it!
