It’s not about how much per week, it’s the financial commitment over the duration of the contract. Does a £7m ‘signing on fee’ and £100k / week sound more palatable? Its the same commitment over 3 years.

100% That’s £23m for a 3 year contract, £31m for 4 years. There will be plenty of clubs willing to spend that imo. We committed in the region of £37m over 4 years for Beto (fee + reported wages)

It's funny reading some of the posts on here slagging him for not signing a new contract. Robbing the club of a future transfer fee. If he'd have signed a new contract, the same posters would probably be fuming about not being able to sell him...

Where ever he’s going he will be getting more money than he was on imho. It’s almost inevitable, I seriously doubt he loosing money out of this.
