Not sure he would have improved the team today. Perhaps if ndiaye would have played cf, then yes...but no way moyes would have sub grealish, dewsbury or ndiaye today

Solid game again for him and unlucky with that header. The more he plays, the more assure he looks. Going to be difficult to drop him when Branthwaite is fully fit (which is not for a number of weeks anyway).

I criticise him loads but that was one of his best defensive displays. Good interceptions, calm throughout.

I like the look of him, definitely added "presence" to the midfield.

He played well whilst not quite hitting the heights of previous games. He produced one great moment which would have resulted in another assist if not for a great fingertip save from Martinez

Have we already started to over rely on Grealish? I’m all for getting value out of a loan, but Villa seemed to double team him whenever they could. He got plenty of crosses in though, just no luck at the other end.

Had a solid game for me...there was always 2 players on him, so hard really...confident that if he continues like that he will get plenty of assists and goals for us.

Beto’s gotten himself into good positions today. It’s his first touch that’s hurting us. He’s got the soft touch of a brick wall. I’d like to see Barry come in earlier than 60’.

Obrien is just not good enough as a rb...very poor first half from him. Is patto so bad?

Beto is such an enigma. Everyone wants him to do well and when he has a good game he looks unplayable but then there’s the basics such as controlling the ball and getting a shot off, he can’t seem to get it at all.

I dont think any pl clubs should be allowed during normal season to be involved in friendlies for money. The league was against the European super league...well surely they re not going to be happy with this. It can set a dangerous precedent.
