Not sure what annoys me more, loaning a crock like Vermaelen or the striker situation. Decent strikers are hard to find but a stack of squad level left sided defenders have been and gone this summer.
Will reserve judgement for 24 hours but for now Vermaelen really winds me up as a deal! :)
Yes, think Sandro and Klaassen will probably do better in Europe than domestic games. Prem is all about pace and power which we don't have a great deal of.
Wesley Hoedt signs for Soton for £15m. Another left sided CB off the list.
Who's left?
Kempf (Freiburg)
Gibson (Boro)
Wimmer (Spurs)
Anyone else out there?
You're probably right - though Bernardeschi and Costa are wide players which might leave him more expendable, or certainly leave Juve open to big money offer for a player with minimal sell-on value etc.
It's going to be Troy Deeney isn't it? :)
Only reason I think there's a shot at Mandzukic is the fact he's probably 5th choice in the forwards at Juve:
Higuain
Dybala
bernadeschi (wide forward)
Douglas Costa (wide forward)
Mario
Pjaca
But he's probably very comfy in Turin with occasional Champs League games and starting half the Série...
Mario Mandzukic would be ideal.
Would take a monumental power play from our negotiators to pull that one off, but maybe he fancies a shot at the Prem. Pipe dream perhaps.
I think he's a little better than that but appreciate the balanced response. He's definitely better than Williams, much more competent on the ball and definitely quicker.
I'm not saying he's a star player but would be a solid, achievable target who would improve us. Also feel he's the most...
