People can, and will show respect in their own ways.

The question is whether to audibly protest or not isn't it?

Sometimes in life, things happen in front of you that you can't control. All you can control is your reaction.

I wouldn't boo my worst enemy when they snuff it.

So I wouldn't be arsed booing at a football pitch regarding the death of an 96 woman I've never met.
Totally agree..as an Irishman I'd stay quiet over the minutes silence out of respect for an elderly woman who passed away as I would any other. I would never boo anyones National Anthem. However I would not clap on the 70th minute due to years of Monarchy reign.

You can be a pacifist and still respect the minutes silence for armistice day. you aren't respecting the war they fell in, nor the politicians who started the war, you are supporting the poor sods who lost their lives fighting the war for those politicians. The minutes silence is held for a person who has passed. The national anthem i couldn't care less about but the minutes silence should be sacrosanct imo

Are you seriously asking for a clear historical discussion of 300 years of British rule in India on a football forum.
The EIC arrived. They plundered the richest country on Earth. They did not care about human life just profit. You can look the EIC debates about whether they should raise taxes during the Bengal famine to make up for the dead. It's all carefully compiled.

Honestly asking for positives is no different from saying Mussolini made the trains run on time or Fred West laid an excellent patio.

Politics has nothing to do with it. Labour and the Tory's were both utterly complicit.

Q - Are you seriously asking for a clear historical discussion of 300 years of British rule in India on a football forum.
A - no, was being facetious

Just wanted to gauge fan sentiment ahead of the planned gestures this Sunday.

From the Premier League website.
It is in the Everton forum so I am very respectful of site rules and wish to encourage reasonable dialogue on such a divisive topic.

Hi, I’m Groucho McLure. You may remember me from forum education videos such as ‘Dial P for Psycho’ and ‘Lead Paint - Delicious but Deadly’.

For me the way the BBC (national, not local) has turned into mournHUB means we can never take the much out of North Korea again.

Immmot going at the weekend however I personally support whatever action people want to take aside from booing at a minutes’ silence. I just think that may make us look cheap.

I fall between the ‘not for me but will stay silent’ and ‘stay on the concourse’ options.

Whatever path you take, remember - it’s a jungle out there.

Don't get the North Korea comparison myself.

I’m not going

However if I did, I would respect the minutes silence, and that’s it. That’s all that is needed. The rest is just OTT silliness and sycophantic.

Wouldn’t sing the national anthem, I’m ashamed to be British after the last few years of Brexit and UKIP/Tory scum ruining the country and spreading their bile and hatred.

Plus I prefer San Miguel or Cruzcampo and Iberico Ham than carling lager, bacon and eggs etc….shove your Union Jack firmly up your hoop.
