I think he is solid if he asked to stay back for the entire 90 minutes & defend, and pass the ball to a more creative player. He is not a box to box, nor a player capable of playing behind a striker. His passing is atrocious for a midfielder. have not really seen him score much when he does late runs into the box (or even threaten the goal for that matter).
When a world class manager comment that we do not have midfielders (Doucs included) who are good at possession, it's a sign. And when a world class manager put him in a more defensive role, perhaps he isn't that great going forward.
Yes, he had some great run in that role for awhile but he has been given more games as a box to box but he offered nothing going forward and his defensive work suffered as the result of running up and down the pitch.

Good to have numbers back but if he gets fit the best thing we can do is try and get some of the cash we wasted on him back
