Confirmed Signing Neal Maupay

This is where we are at. We are in the bracket of teams with Bournemouth, forest and the like. Maupay gives us a proven Premier league striker. Quite average yes, but you would say better than the likes of kiefer Moore and the guy forest had up front.
A proven premier league striker who Brighton have not given a single minute of play so far this season, not even off the bench

I really like this signing. We've picked up a player from a team higher than us last season. The lad has been fit, playing an average of 37.5 games over the last FIVE seasons (in the championship and prem). Scored 25 one season for Brentford, but generally averages 10 a season. Seems a good Richarlison replacement, but also vital up front backup to Dom who lets be honest, is not going to be the last time he's going to be injured. And as far I know, Maupay can play anywhere along the front and is way more mobile than Rondon.

If he can increase his numbers marginally he'll be hitting Richy's numbers. As you say he's already not far off those for Brighton

I find the whole striker recruitment beyond strange, but each to their own. We are signing a player who hasn’t figured for his previous team this season and we are farting about the day before our 5th game without a “match fit” centre forward!
Why was he frozen out at Brighton? Anyone know?

Get a grip. We're nothing like those clubs. We're nursing FFP rules having blown half a billion quid like a reckless drunk in a casino. We've a cracking new stadium being built and slowly getting shot of the deadwood. In the meantime we are still, and always will be, the famous EFC!
I was referring to the quality of our players not the size of the club

I get the sentiment though that this is a very bottom half of the table signing. I can understand that with the fact Brighton have shipped him and he’s not got a goal record in the prem that’s set the world alight.

Goals per game of 0.25 and a shooting accuracy of 35%. Lewin is 0.27 for 43% for comparison - so not way off.

He doesn’t score against the big sides but he does score against the sides we should be beating. I think he’s worth a punt at 26 and hopefully now he has premier league experience he can rekindle the form he saw with Brentford.
