2022/23 Dwight McNeil

are we not going to give this bloke time to settle in? We know he has played PL footy for several years and we hoped he would hit the ground running but he looks like he hasn't settled at Everton and needs to adjust to our way.

We’ve achieved a new GOT biff high tide mark of writing off a player after two and a bit competitive games.

As much as we need squad overhaul, we need a fan overhaul so much more.

We also need players to play with intensity when they come on the pitch. I can accept McNeil taking time, and he will need time, but there is no intensity to his play. It's all so slow and lethargic. Someone needs to tell him that if he gets himself into the game early with a lot of effort, and goes closes someone down, or throws in a tackle, then Evertonians will love him.

Iwobi showed how you get yourself out of a slump in form in an Everton shirt. You try and try harder and put in more and more effort and then things start to improve.

We now call this The Iwobi Effect.

It’s early days man, let’s give the lad a chance. Judging by this thread the last people I’d be trying to impress as a new player would be Evertonians.

I just expect a bit of energy and intensity from a new signing, and we've not seen it... yet

He'll get game time tonight. Or at least he should do, because he needs minutes in his legs.

I'm not going to lie though, I didn't think he was the right signing for us, and isn't a player I believe is effective. Hopefully I am once again wrong.

Tonight will be his kickstart imo, he’ll be as frustrated as anyone that he hasn’t started well

I'm sure that I saw Lampard with his arm around his neck at the end of the game. I would have preferred to have put 2 hands around his neck!
