Good, Sunderland would still be in league one without his contribution. If he went back he has to be playing games. Great desire to play footy from the young man.
Yeah, agree. He's 24 now and he needs to be playing games or his career is just going to start slipping away from him. Yeah, maybe he should have more confidence and back himself to get on either teamsheet but if he's been pragmatic and seen that Wigan offers more of a chance then can't blame him at all.

Closer to home too. I think that’s something people forget about loans, upping sticks and moving away from your friends and family for 9 months can be difficult. It’s one thing committing to a permanent move but on loan it’s a lot of upheaval.

Yeah very true.

His sister was on below the Neil story basically saying he was talking out his hole and Broadhead 100% backs himself and just preferred the move to Wigan

I see Broadhead has had another contract extension until 2024. It can surely only be with a view to selling him before the start of next season , maybe hoping that a good spell with Wigan gets him into the Wales World Cup squad , then who knows. Big “maybes” though

if he can actually stay fit for a full season (big if though, dont think hes done it once in his career) we should be able to get a decent fee next summer.

It'll be utterly criminal if we, at the very minimum, cannot organise loans for Gomes and Davies, particularly if Gueye ends up back here.

We'd have Gueye, Onana, Doucoure, Allan and Onyango who are better than Gomes and Davies. Even if it's just to save 50% of their wages, it's better than them being either on the bench and unused, or left out of the squads completely.

…they would need to agree to go on loan, which might not be straightforward if they don’t fancy the club or country on offer.
