I know the lad got hurt and it's horrible to see, but it's like we've learnt nothing from last season. Instead of playing forward he does the most risky, poorly executed back pass and then gets injured trying to atone himself.
 

They only showed it once on TV at full speed, and it looked like his right foot got stuck in the ground as he lunged in. The fact that they never even showed it a second time makes me think it must be pretty bad.
Most of these horror injuries seem to involve a planted foot stuck in the turf... Do these semi plastic pitches play a part in this?
 

This is the most Everton that thing. Made a crap mistake and injured himself in consequence.
 
It's not Everton without trying to reach double figures for injuries at the start of the season (n)
