Not sure. Very rare in cases like this that it leaks out they prefer another move and are stalling because of it. More often it comes out that they’re tempted by a more lucrative move somewhere else or some language like that.
Rare to see a player move like this when they’ve come out and said they want to go somewhere else, look at de Jong with United, came out very early that he wasn’t interested, they’ve still persisted with a massive bid and absolutely wasted their time, even if he ends up there it’ll be very clear he was forced out of Barca and not that he wanted United.
