TV Series

Episode 8, could’ve been done in an hour, but episode 9 is worth every minute of the the two and a half hours.

Stranger Things major spoiler:

The only thing I missed in that last episode was some form of acknowledgement from the rest of the crew @ Eddie's death. Other than the conversation between Dustin and Eddie's uncle, and him being namedropped on the TV news, Eddie wasn't mentioned at all after dying. His death really solidified him as a great character though. I hope they don't bring him back for season 5, as it would cheapen his arc a lot.

Eddie’s Metallica guitar solo, was one of my favourite scenes in the whole show.

What I hated the most is that he died still a murderer and villain in the eyes of the town & no chance for him to be exonerated or be given a proper funeral yet.

See for me, I do really like the show but I feel like I’m the opposite to a lot of fans in that these moments really don’t do anything for me. It’s like in season 3 when it’s the final battle at the mall and then Dustin started singing the never ending story theme. It takes me out of the moment and kills the tension for me. Although I do really like Metallica so this moment worked a little better for me.

I think sometimes the show drifts into that Marvel thing where they feel the need to punctuate serious moments with unnecessary comedy/something really quirky.

But with the full benefit of hindsight, I do appreciate Eddie getting his moment here.

Eddie has stolen series four imo.

I just wish he’d been introduced earlier.
