Because Levy isn't an idiot and knows that Kenwright is an idiot and that the deal will be negotiated in Levy/Tottenham's favour if he gets in Kenwrong's ear.

Also don't know if you've noticed in this thread, but it's been widely established that Thelwell has actually not been to Goodison yet and hasn't worked a day for us still.

I suspect this Thelwell fella isn't long for this job. Clearly, he's been sidelined by Kewnright on the Richarlison deal (or is incompetently going along with it), and he'll surely be given his marching orders if a new sheriff arrives in town.
