Yeah, I remember them headlining on a Friday one year I was there, when they were fairly new (pre-Morning Glory), but they'd still have been considered an indie band, they weren't like global stadium fillers. I think it was Jay Z that really changed things.

I thought they were "Big" by then. But yeah, I remember the Jay Z set, and was astonished at how good it was. Didnt he take the mick out of Oasis, or Liam, before he started?

I think the festival should still get some proper punk, metal bands etc

The US hardcore scene is great at the moment, and I see Turnstile are there so hopefully more will be next year

As long as he had a decent guitarist, (he would have) that is The Smiths really. Unless he did a Morrisey and disappeared up his hoop and didnt play any of their stuff.

Johnny Marr is me fave guitarist ever. I am ok as a player, but cant get close to what he does.
