Finished the Obi-Wan series.
Some great set pieces and Ewan McGregor is great in the role, but over all the writing and story was bloody awful.
The thing is, most people tune into Star Wars stuff because they want to see those Jedi vs Sith showdowns, the light saber battles and what not. That's why, as good as the Mandalorian has been, it's always going to be second best to what they should be doing.
Just have to hope that Disney can move on from the fan service stuff and actually use the supposed thousands of years worth of lore they have to do something original with a new cast of characters and explore some of the Jedi & Sith that we've not seen yet.

This season has just gone from strength to strength. Amazing what you can do when the creative team gets free reign without the meddling from executives solely aimed at pushing merchandise and spin offs

Apparently that's what Taika Waititi has been tasked to do with this new Star Wars film he's been handed. Apparently it's gonna be a new story set after the Skywalker saga.
Not watched this ep yet, but it's based on the infamous Herogasm limited series which was WILD. Will post a pic in spoilers but also... NSFW and is not censored.

Thought it was superb to be honest. I get what you are saying but I personally thought it was really good. I will be honest though, there is something about any Vader scene that gets me excited

I hope that they do make a completely new story but I am also massively enjoying the stuff that they have brought out regarding the back/future stories of characters that we have seen. Mandalorian also just pips Obi Wan for me, but it is close.
Not a fan of the Marvel stuff these days, so don’t know if the ones he did were any good or not, but that Jojo Rabbit film he did a couple of years back was absolutely superb. Interested to see what he can do here.

One off my favorite shows of the last few years. One of the few that make changes from the book that really work. But I will agree with collino that you'll know if it's for you in the first few episodes.

He's only done one Marvel film so far which was Thor Ragnarok and it is great. The sequel to that which he directed is coming out in a couple of weeks.
