ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I'm sure some were locked out with legal tickets...

UEFA's initial claim was that fans turned up late to the game with fake tickets. This was proven to be a lie, because the issues started 2 hours before KO.
the issue 2 hours before was the fakes and those holding them not accepting being told no. the fraudulent ticket holders then stood their ground and wouldnt be moved on for genuine holders to gain access.
they picked a fight, they got one. im gutted the cops didnt use more force.

a lot more force!

OK. We have heard about the security checkpoint away from the stadium was too narrow for the rs fans and this caused a bottleneck.

Can anyone definitively state that the Madrilenos were provided with easier access - more checkpoints? Less congestion?

If they also had similar to the rs, then the clear conclusion is that it was the thousands of ticketless, or fake ticketholders that caused the problem.
That tunnel section is the only way through from the RER B (train station) to the ground if I remember rightly.

Most fans entering the stadium would have gone through it. They do have police vans funneling it which seems crazy but that has been the same whenever I have been there.

I'm going to see Liam Gallagher at Knebworth on Friday. There'll be close to 100,000 people going.

The festival organisers, the security, are responsible for the safety of everyone there, by ensuring it's organised and as safe as possible.

yes, that includes ensuring any criminal/dangerous behaviour is caught out, so they have to have ample amount of security and checks etc.

That's what UEFA/the authorities did not have in place - they had 6-8 stewards on one checkpoint before the stadium, to deal with approx 20,000 legitimate tickets and however many more who tried to sneak in... So they have to take the blame for that.
I'm going also, can't wait !

We knew that already

There's some good points raised - Liverpool as a club need to accept more responsibility. Laying on travel would have been a good start.

But that article says as much about the current political mess in France too.

As bad as our lot.

Can you link me to this info please?
does seem odd that there were multiple portals into the stadium proper but just one pre stadium checkpoint. was it shared by all or was there a pre check for both ends? how did the vips and the other corporates get in? how did local yoof know to only attack the red end? all very strange.

You think UEFA is going to announce via the PA system in the stadium that fans with no / fake tickets have been attempting to force their way into the stadium? I I don't want to imagine the scenes that would cause.

Kopites who want to get into a final are similar to rapists. They don’t like being told NO

Does that mean that all fans coming from RER B went through the tunnel checkpoint, or was there segregation so that only rs did, and Madrid fans went another direction?

Multiple reports from Sky, BBC, Guardian, Telegraph - it's all out there mate, and the videos show it.

That was at the end of the flyover, before they got to the stadium itself.

Would it not have made sense to have two or three checkpoints - which I believe has been the case for previous finals.

Liverpool could and should have done more and the fans need to accept some blame (they won't). But UEFA lying was sickening and the French police's brutality shouldn't just be accepted as 'oh it happens'. There's rightfully anger here when the Met do anything wrong - which they do a lot of course. Macron has had his bullies scrapping every weekend for the past 3 years, bar 2020 for the pandemic.

they literally did say that

they announced one reason, and then claimed another reason... hence, they are also part of the mess.
