I heard an audiotape of when he was actually recruited, it made for some interesting dialogue.

”Hey you, no not you, the other guy the one in the speedo’s with the comb over!

Hi mate, do you fancy a job that pays millions and all you have to do is sit on a bench?

Honestly, there is this basket case club in the Prem who are signing anyone with a pulse for top dollar!

I have just seen you score three cracker goals they we deffo sign you!

Nah mate it doesn't matter if you are playing beahc volleyball, this lot dont have a clue.

Yeah deffo mate, we can get you a proper gangster hair transplant and everything!

Why are they called gangster transplants? They come off completely if you are trying to disguise yourself.

No, no catches whatsover, oh hang on wait, you dont like gravy do you?

Sound mate, if you did, you would have to go cold turkey while you are there as the guy who signs you is like a ‘bisto black hole’ no gravy escapes his gravitational pull

how long is the contract for, how long do you want?
Are u still drunk from last Thursday?

He had plenty of opportunities to leave and play regularly but greed kept him here taking his wage that was stupidly offered to him , so long and never speak of us again, we will forget you in a heartbeat

One of the many signings of the last few years who have taken much but delivered little.

He loves the club and the fans, sadly it’s not reciprocal.

£27m to buy the player. Another £4m per year in wages, for four and a half years.

Around £45m in total.

For what?

For for him to occasionally sit on the bench, but most of the time he wasn't even in the squad. Imagine how lacking in ambition you'd have to be to simply shrug your shoulders at not being selected during the prime years of your sporting career.

A transfer so bad it was hilarious.

Move this thread into world football please, and let's not post in it again until he signs with another club.

From what I’ve seen in the training videos he was the best finisher at the club, shame the rest of his game wasn’t as good. He seemed to like Everton (but he was being paid well) but I wish him luck wherever he lands up.
