Even worse was how our fans in the lower gwladys reacted, disgusting behaviour throwing whatever they could and spitting on red****e players absolute animals who should be banned from entering a football stadium ever again

Absolutely hate suarez, that diving was a complete joke

Over reacting and faking injury should really be cracked down on, send them off its becoming a joke

Guardian Match report quote:

The biggest talking point was the dismissal of Jack Rodwell, midway through the first half, for a legitimate, ball-winning tackle on Suárez. The challenge was not two-footed or dangerous, nor was it malicious, and to the non-partisan eye it did not warrant a card of any sort, let alone red. It did not even look like a foul.

BBC match report:

Rodwell was sent off by referee Martin Atkinson - who has shown 15 red cards since the start of last season - after 23 minutes for what appeared to be a legitimate challenge on Suarez. The game was engulfed in controversy when Rodwell appeared to win the ball cleanly in a midfield challenge with Suarez. The tackle drew an angry response from Liverpool's players- Lucas in particular as Suarez writhed in agony - but it was an obvious injustice when the England Under-21 midfielder was shown the red card.

I assume all the other media match reports will be similar. All it needs now is for us to aggressively appeal the decision, even to demand a rematch. Obviously we won't get a rematch but we need to show the FA such blatant favouritism will not be tolerated.

Circumstances also need to be taken into account:

- it's the fooking derby, of course it will be intense...it's supposed to be intense.
- Rodwell had not committed a foul or bad tackle previously to that one.
- Suarez is well known to dive and feign injury.
- an unecessary red card killed the game of its potential drama and entertainment value to the near-40,000 fans who had paid good money to watch, nevermind those with paid Sky subscriptions.
- Martin Atkinson had the best view in the house and took no time to think about his decision, brandishing the red immediately. This is incredibly damning for him.

The referee should be banned from top-flight football for such an insane lack of judgement and respect for the game.

I wouldnt say it was worse, I would say equally as bad.

But either way, pride and dignity, went right out the window and I do agree it wasnt nice to see.

We need to take a leaf out of the kopites book and scream and shout about it.

Until the FA address it like they need to. And that c*ntbag Suarez, he needs to learn that his behaviour isn't tolerated on these shores the bucktoothed f*ckwit.

That's exactly what Darke and Macca said on ESPN. Up to that point, it had been a very level-headed match from both sides and then out of nowhere BAM !!! A red card.

Made no sense.

(They didn't say "Out of nowhere BAM !!" That's what I interpreted to mean.)

How Atkinson was given this match is beyond me. He has sent off more players than any other ref and seems a bizarre choice for a match that has a reputation for being somewhat feisty. I can't think of a worse decision I've seen at Goodison, maybe some of equal ineptitude, but not worse. The sad thing is that while I may be fuming about it I'm not in the least surprised. Half expected to see Atkinson swap shirts with Suarez at the end - maybe they waited until they were in the tunnel.

Thinking back, Moyes should just have taken the whole team off the pitch.

Or strolled on the pitch, lamped the Ref, chinned Dalglish and then sat back down.

Jol would have.

I actually thought about that during the match.

What would happen if he pulled 'em all into the dressing room?
