City cycling off next season, I’m hoping that the signing of Haaland will at least allow them to stay in the hunt but last time they cycled off they just completely fell away and Liverpool romped to it.

Their open play goals are drying up though. They seem to get a lot now from set pieces, penalties, deflections, and from open play a lot of them are crosses. The scything counter attacks we used to see between Firmino Mane and Salah don’t seem to be there as much now, it’s more someone scoring from a corner and then they just see out the game.

Will be interesting if Diaz Jota Elliot etc. don’t hit the heights or Mane Salah Firmino, or if they get any injuries next season. Apart from buying another holding mid and right they haven’t really got any other area to strengthen their squad in.

City meanwhile could legitimately go and get two strikers (which they have), a holding mid to replace Fernandinho, and another full back.

All depends on what City do to replace Silva imho.

Silva is back off to Portugal in the summer iirc

EDIT: I may have been thinking of last season, then he decided not to leave in the end.
Bernardo Silva and his partner regularly visit family in Portugal. During lockdown this was not possible and it affected them. Bernardo wanted to move back to Iberia so he could at least be near family. Now that travel restrictions have eased, however, he is able to make the regular visits and, as such, both he and his partner are much happier. It may well be the case that he does decide to move on in the summer, but it's a lot less likely than it was last summer. He's a fantastic player and everyone at City hopes that he stays for a long time.
