do all the teams go to the same beach?
I completely endorse the cautious approach. He knows how brittle the confidence of these players are and that they get comfort by not being too adventurous.
We have to score, of course. But we could and should have last night. If Richarlison or Gray take their chances and we make a smash and grab the plaudits would have been doled out left, right and centre. It wasn't to be.
Lampard knows that if we add another couple of points (and most certainly with 3 added) we hand a hell of a job to both Burnley and Leeds.
All expect the teams we play. It's the most important game of the season for themdo all the teams go to the same beach?
A Leeds loss and us to draw would definitely be the most amusing and enjoyable for the purposes of this thread.
I see him more as a Lego man myself but fair enough.Arsenal are tramps. We will watch thunder birds head melt and drip all over the touchline.
Hates us with a passion for some reason he does.
I fancy Spurs for fourth now, can see Arsenal coming unstuck at Saudicastle on Monday.Pete, Arsenal were not going to just phone it in against us if they had qualified for CL. It's their last game of the season at home, they'd be looking to go out on a high whatever happened.
Spurs now have the bit between their teeth. Arsenal are at Newcastle on Monday evening, Spurs can be above them by two points by the time that game comes around, and if they do beat Burnley that is good for us as it means Burnley have lost two games in a row heading into that away game at Villa (which is their last home game of the season).
How about we meet in the middle and call him a bellend.I see him more as a Lego man myself but fair enough.
Effort doesn't equate to bad players becoming good. From the first whistle you could tell this was a v different team from last 2 games in particular. Effort simply wasn't there
Yeah that's all right, fully agree. Nothing to do with effort though. The effort has been there in every game under Lampard bar, I think, that Wolves game when fear gripped.I agree I don't think there was a lack of exertion but it wasn't just a deficiency of skill . They have obvious mental impediments as well. you could see they were just terrified of losing the ball so they just passed side to side and backwards. the setup didnt help but the lack of urgency affects the quality of the offense and that definitely iwas nfluenced by an absence of confidence.
I mean they will put coaches on tooJust read that if you're a Burnley fan wanting to go the game on sunday, you'll need a hotel room.
The earliest train from Burnley on sunday will get you into London at halftime. Absolute scumbaggery from BT and the Premier League, but could do us a favour.
Really though it's four points from 2 games4 points from 3 games
That's the target
Get that and it doesn't matter what happens unless Leeds win their last two games 10-0, which I don't think is happening tbh
Get those 4 points and it's over
Leeds dropping points would be a bonus
Focus on what we need to do. Make Goodison a bear pit and drag those players over the line
The other night was huge and while a point is by no means a 'bad' result my frustration is not going for it more in those last 15-20 minutes and that's on Lampard leaving useless Gordon on the pitch tbh. Not that Gordon us 'useless', he's far from it, but the other night he was atrocious. Why not have Dele come on and change the shape slightly for the front three, have him behind Dom and Richy. You can still keep the back three structure in place. That disappointed me, because if we had got three points our task would be a lot easier. This is far from over. Brighton are ok but they aren't city there's every chance Leeds beat them this weekend. That would put us below Leeds going into the Brentford game. Whilst we have favourable home games we can accept we'll lose at Arsenal. Brentford and palace home are not given wins with our team. I just want it over with.
Well it could easily be or it could be 40.Can see it being 35 max.
I agree with all of that but he had another change to make and he could have made it without throwing caution to the wind.I completely endorse the cautious approach. He knows how brittle the confidence of these players are and that they get comfort by not being too adventurous.
