ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

With the exception of those 2, the quality of the league is absolutely atrocious.

Every other team has been in turmoil; Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Utd have all changed managers in the last 5 years; poor recruitment etc etc

Both City and the RS wouldn’t have been able to dominate so easily 15 years ago when the quality was a lot higher.

That’s the reason why
You say that but the most team have a star. I mean we don't but we have spent half a billion just to avoid relegation.
Palace now, beats the palace of 15 years ago. Villa beat Villa of 15 years ago ect ect.
This man city and RS team are the peak sides in modern football history with the exception of maybe Barca and Real Madrid. It pains me to say it.
I would say that most of these "super sides" have medical teams supplementing within an inch of illegal. I very much doubt that Everton other sides have to intelligence in the club to do this.

The truest ever spoken in this thread for a long time.

I've no doubt someone probably posted this back in 2019, but it's actually staring us in the face.

Nothing illegal found eh? Would that have anything to do with Liverpool's ten high-priced lawyers behind a bulletproof door?

Or just the fact that for the mere price of a high-end Championship player, they could pay any "formula analyst" enough dosh to never have to work again, as long as they declare their so-called potion to be legal. Apparently this special gear has been around for nigh 50 years too, so maybe even Paisley's lot were at it?

This is dodgier than the Grey Report into Partygate (or rather the "Grey scrawl on a napkin"). I suggest someone with greater detective skills than I should chase this, just like James "I remember Betamax" Milner still does.... y'know at 40 mph in his 50th game of any given season?

In the words of the author: "What cannot be refuted is that since they've been fuelled with their post-match brew, Liverpool are looking more unstoppable than ever."..... sweet effing Jeebus. Maybe they should have bog roll at Melwood with "fabric of the beautiful game" written on it as well?

VAR officials, scientists, PL accountants, RS partners, and other vested interests Joe Public has never heard of. There need to be some serious audits going down before it's too late. That said, I hope they win the quad and then it ALL comes out. Would be more satisfying in a way.

The elixir in question was pioneered by a former German swimmer whose claim to fame was smashing records late in his career while also helping other older swimmers achieve superb times. There have been questions asked about it but like so much of sports nutrition its shrouded in secrecy

We'll likely never know whats going on but as a team they are achieving physical greatness that defies merely being the result of turmeric and fruit juices.

They're not the only club obviously.

Sport science has improved significantly over the past two decades and with improved nutrition and habits, like I've mentioned previously, players are fitter.

That's a fact. Nevertheless, the issue here is how one or two clubs are significantly above the rest in terms of fitness to the point they see to stay injury free.

Part of it could be their confidence, their conditioning and whatnot, but when you combine magic drinks and abnormal asthma rates it becomes questionable.

I'd love to see their dressing room pre-match and how many are puffing away on their blue or brown inhalers, and whether it's regimented.

People can choose to go on about sports science or whatever they want to but there’s just no way that athletes in their late 30s are better than they were in their early 20s at sports that require speed strength etc.

They might gain a bit in experience, but when the sport is swimming or cycling then that’s not going to help much is it.

I could understand the likes of Milner playing sweeper or something, or the role that Barry did for us in front of the back 4 (which he was frankly too slow to do by the end and he was far more intelligent than Milner was) but when you see him still tearing round the pitch at the speed he is putting the distances in you do start to wonder. This was a bloke that started at 16 as well. He should be absolutely done by this point, not getting better.

nah mate, it’s just jergens special hugs and ginger up the hoop that is firing up boring jimmy Milner at the age of 345 - nowt to do with his asthma or spezial brau!

They do say booze is the worst thing for an athlete, no wonder J Cole, Rooney Gascoigne Best, Wilshire, Carroll were done by the time they were in their late 20's.

No surprise to see famously teetotal footballers like Dzeko, Ronaldo, Miller and Zlatan going strong in their mid to late 30s in this modern era.

Yeah the one difference though is that the likes of Messi Ronaldo Zlatan, all vegan yoga types their entire careers, bearers of genuine world class talent, have all pretty much been playing the game at a walking pace since they were about 33 after a career in far less physical leagues in better climates.

Milner is still running with Kante and De Bruyne at the age he is now despite a career in the most physical league in the world, not all of it spent with good teams on good pitches, and if anything he’s got better and faster than he was in 2014 when City decided he wasn’t good enough to play at their level. Bit odd that.
