Got a friend who is a Derby fan and, mostly because he lives in Lincolnshire, has a season ticket at Scunthorpe. Between us.. well, you know the rest.

Whilst the club is probably getting what it deserves, it just feels unfair from a fan perspective. I don't know the precise date I started following the blues. My dad supports them, so I was basically forced into it. Almost got turned to United in primary school but couldn't bare the shame of it. My first memories were my dad listening to the Wimbledon match on the radio. After that the FA cup. Then my first match, a friendly against Wrexham. Stuck with them through thick and thin, been to fair few matches but nothing to show for it. We finally get a bit of investment, the stadium is actually getting built, but now this. You couldn't make it up really. We've been mismanaged on and off the pitch but what were the odds of once 'shrewd' Everton becoming this bloated mess. Basically being the first club to be clobbered by FFP as well.

I think we need 4 points out of the next 4. That takes us 5 ahead of Burnley and 7 Watford.

In that time Burnley play 5 Watford 4. I think Watford would struggle to get 7 points in them 4 and have quite a tough last 4 bar us at home as they have city away and play Burnley at home. And play Leeds at home tomorrow. I’d prefer a Leeds win obviously. but if Leeds lost they then have palace away city at home. We couid be potentially be a couple of points behind them and their last 4 our Arsenal away, Brentford away. Chelsea and Brighton at home.

Burnley have some winnable games, but as we seen previously they can’t score unless you hand them gifts like us. So Norwich away still fighting, Watford away, West Ham away. Southampton and wolves at home. Can
You really see 3 wins?

Probably shouldn’t look at the fixtures, but hey ho. Just get 4 points and I think we will just get over the line

I think Watford's fate is already sealed due to the extra game they've played along with their poor goal difference. I genuinely don't see them as a threat to us, it's all about how Burnley do for me.

Clearly if we fail to get about 30 points then Watford could get ahead but we'd be down anyway.

So im looking at things based on what could realistically be enough to keep us up bearing in mind what Burnley might be capable of too. It could be as low as 34 but with their GD being better, I fear that may not be enough for us.

I reckon 35 points would just about do it. Burnley would have to get 3 wins and 2 draws to reach 35, meaning only 4 more losses. Unlikely for me. Alternatively they get 4 wins and send us down but for a team with 4 wins in 29 games, that looks extremely unlikely too.

35 is the number I'm hopeful will keep us up and if we are lucky it may only be 34 needed. Think we are down achieving anything less than that.

That would work well if Burnley and Watford didnt actually play any games in those 4 you say for Everton, Burnley for me have got a few games they could win, but like us trying to win any game, its if Burnley can actually do it, Watford seem to be able to attack more than a few teams at the bottom its just they never seem to find the net

The depressing thing is if we beat United we will still more than likely end the weekend in exactly the same position as we are now.

Just gotta hope we bounce back like villa and Newcastle did
Our debt puts us in a different situation I’m afraid. We have a rotten squad and won’t have the ability to rebuild. The rotten players will stay (they are unsellable) and the better ones will be sold to fend off administration.

This could take a few seasons to sort and could even include a dip into league one.

We’re not done for yet, but admittedly the challenge is getting harder by the week. The home games are key;
United, Leicester, Chelsea, Brentford, Palace.
If we could get 9-10 points from them and somehow get one win away, or even a point at Watford, I still think we’ll be ok.
I’m seeing tomorrow as a free hit. Allan returning but still no Mina or VDB. A 10 day break before Leicester is time for those 2 to hopefully get fit. VDB brings much needed composure to midfield and Mina is our best centre back.
Granted there’s a lot of ‘ifs’ and ‘hopefullys’ in there, but all is not lost!

I think we need to win 3/5 at home and get a couple of draws or a win away.

We've lost 8 of 10. We now can't lose more than 4 of 9, and have to go to Anfield and Emirates. I don't think we are remotely capable of that sort of improvement.

Annoys me the rumours about the board considering lampards position...

The one constant thing about this team is the playing staff ...
I won't claim that lampards perfect, far from it...
He's made mistakes and he probably will in future....

However it's clear to see what he's trying to do....
The squad needs ripping up and starting again as it's them that are constantly making mistakes and bottling it

I think Everton will feel at home in the Championship and spend most, if not all of the next decade there at least.
You obviously have more faith in the club then I do. Imo we'd do well to stay up in the championship. Our loser players can't cope with "must win" games every once in a while against the likes of Burnley. Can you imagine how they'd cope in an environment where they'd be the giants to slay and the scalp to claim by every opponent every single week?! Where they'd be expected to beat everyone?! Lol, the gutless little worms would crap themselves five mins into the first game on week one!
