Lets get it right if we dont go down this season then Moshiri is still owner, Kenwright is still chairman, Lampard is still manager and these players are still here so its likely another relegation battle next season.

There is no silver bullet some of our fans are hoping for - be no Europe or midtable next season if we do manage to stay up.

The Fans need to wake up and fast and stop the self pity.

If we stay up a so called big name or 2 will go, Lampard would recruit loans prob from Chelsea and bring his type of players in, it would be a total revamp of the squad, Imo not many would survive the full only the younger ones.

Relegation will kill us. We absolutely do need a reset but relegation kills this club.

Simply for the fact that all our terrible high wage players can't even be sold. Nobody wants them.

So all these high wage players will cripple us whilst failing to turn up still.

Kill us, so that we may live again...Leeds, Villa, Man City...all went down with massive financial issues, all came back much healthier. Their fans are enjoying themselves, and even had fun during their Prem time-out.

It's been soulless stuff following the blues these last few years, the more I think about it the more I feel relegation will do the club right in the long-term. But surviving will just prolong this long death of the club's soul.

I think it would be beneficial for Frank a highly illustrious pro to explain to the players that kicking a ball like 2 or 3 feet from a defender who is directly in front of you will most likely result in that ball being blocked. Because those dimwits must of smashed countless balls into defenders not just this game but on the regular. I know it's a part of football but it shouldn't be on the frequency we experience.

It’s been years since games at this time of the season counted. Years.

Now they do. It’s not how we wanted it, but the season is still alive come April.

Lampard cant organise a defence mate its clearly obvious at this point.

I dont blame him fully either but I've seen nothing from him or the squad in general to believe we wont be in the bottom 6 again next season.

Agreed. Begovic seems to bring a calmness to the defence. Pickford puts the shits up them.

Begovic probably is out best captain materia, not ideal having a keeper as captain but imo no one else is u0 to the job. I’d play him and a few other total shake up needed.

We are up against it with no prospects for how to turn it around. The backups (except Branthwaite) are Championship standard, and we start making Championship mistakes the moment we have to start playing them.

The teams that stay up win the six-pointers in April and May. The teams that go down lose them. The teams that execute smash-and-grabs to stay up win the six-pointers along the way. It really is that simple.

Players I like > Coleman, Rich, Gordon, Mina. That's not a statement of their quality, though Coleman aside they're our better players these days. Coleman genuinely gives his all. Can't fault him for the club's mistakes.

The rest are largely either forgettable or just plain unlikeable.

I'm in the acceptance phase now. I'm through the denial, anger and bargaining. We had to win tonight - and we were primed to do so. And we found a way to lose. All of our old flaws came back. Richarlison, courageous on the penalties, fluffed his lines as he so often does when presented with relatively simple chances. Kenny, Godfrey, Holgate... the Three Stooges by any other name. And still there's room for Iwobi to headless chicken his way across the evening. The manager, a PR creation, was paralysed by his own inadequacy. When you are asking players to find their genitalia, you're probably not one of life's great strategic thinkers.

We're doomed now. With Frank there is no hope. A replacement is merely a desperate punt. But we have nothing left to lose now. Our status, self-respect, and dignity have gone. Our hope too. A last Hail Mary throw to appoint an unlikely saviour - somebody with a smidgin of competence - is all that remains. Or else gentle acceptance. I expect a quiet, stunned Goodison on Saturday to turn angry and ugly by the hour mark. Calvert-Lewin; 50 mill
Richie; 50 mill
Allan; 10 mill
Pickford; 30 mill

Plus contracts expiring of Sigurdsson, Delph and Tosun.

That’s 140 million in transfer fees plus around 30 million a year in wages in total.

These savings, plus parachute payments, would probably keep the banks away/FFP clear for one season as long as we could get promoted at the first time of asking, if we don’t then we’re in serious turmoil.
