Pretty sure Lampard likes a Target man... Abraham and Giroud at Chelsea and apparently a similar style at Derby so I'm told
I think DCL will have a strong finish to the season
Yeah, I would expect us to lump it up to him, expect some hold-up play and then lump it back to him on a regular basis. It shouldn't be shocking that Lampard wants to play some Drogba-ball. Chelsea won every pot worth winning playing that way during their years together.

The more I think about it, the more I figure the reason Lampard wanted Alli here is because he knows Alli has the outside-the-box wonder balls that stretch defenses in him somewhere.

Richie isn’t very good up top on his own tho, he needs a proper striker to play off.
Now with Alli closer to him and Gray and Gordon wide of him I think he would be a lot better, I think DCL hasn't got enough about him to create for others, he thrived under Anchelotti by just getting in the box more.

Most overrated player in the team. Played well, and scored a few, under Ancelotti, but has shown no signs of consistency before or since. I’m glad he wasn’t sold in the window, helped by the fact that no one wanted him and we have no other striker, but if an offer comes in in the summer I’d definitely get rid.

It's hard to be consistent when you're out injured for 4 months.

….do we know why he’s been given permission to miss training, especially in our perilous position and when a new Manager and coaches have been appointed?
See, I am all for people having a break and whatnot. But.
Surely, you have been out for months, not up to speed yet, new manager and coaching staff. You must want to be there. Cut your trip short and get back. Even if he has a niggling injury, at least be at the training ground and show your face.
Maybe I am just old fashioned. But I feel this is a symptom of what is has been wrong at our club.
Get back and do some bloody work.

He's only on about 60k a week mate, cut him some slack.

Careful now - the last manager tried to eradicate the poor mentality you speak of and the poster you are quoting + others didn't like it.

@Saint Domingo

I don't think we do know for sure he missed training. He could have been in the gym, or in physio, or indoors training for all we know. I'll be keeping an eye out for him though in the training pics before the weekend. Usually Friday for a Saturday afternoon game.

The whole place is a holiday camp. Hopefully we can get a good bounce of results from the feel good factor to see us to safety. Unless there’s significant change to the squad culture though then we’ll keep having the same problems. Pretty unbelievable for any of these lads to be on holiday at the moment tbh given where we are in the table and that every day on the training ground under a new manager is vital for getting up to speed.
