"We" is a collective for those inside the club. I wasn't suggesting the good folk of GOT can save the club, although we probably wouldn't do much worse!

Anyone we appoint could take us down because the future is not ours to know. But there is absolutely no way we are doomed like some are saying. We need 4 or 5 wins between now and May. If we can't get those we deserve to go down and play championship football.
I agree, I don't think we were going down and have said that if Moshiri genuinely had a long-term vision with Benitez then why sack him, or any of his previous sackings.? Not saying Benitez was the right man, though I hoped he was, but our owner is weak.

A plan:
1. Appoint Ramon Planes, former director of football at Barcelona, as our DOF.
2. Appoint Marcelo Gallardo as manager - River Plate's most successful manager - "He is the most successful coach at the international level in club history to date, with seven international titles: two Copa Libertadores (2015 and 2018), the 2014 Copa Sudamericana, three Recopa Sudamericanas (2015, 2016, and 2019), and the 2015 Suruga Bank Championship. "
3. Let Planes appoint a coach from Barcelona youth academy to replace Unsworth so that we bring through youngsters with the qualities required at the top level of football.
4. Use Gallardo's knowledge of South American football to buy the best South Americans there are available. A lot cheaper than English players and much lower salaries.
5. Use Planes's knowledge of Spanish football to buy the best young Spanish footballers available, hopefully some from Barcelona who can't break into the first team - they are most definitely coached to have the qualities required at the top level.

I agree ;)

Would take this over Martinez every day at least interview him you utter dinosaurs there are more managers in the world than former players and managers!!!

Looks like he could be an interesting option, but like Favre he prefers 3 cb's with wing backs... the tactical pro's on here certainly didn't like Benitez trying that, so I fear they'd be doomed from the start! lol

I don't believe he was ever the right man or that it would ever work. He should never have been appointed and it turned out predictably badly. The longer he stayed the tougher the job would have become for the new manager.

The issue is no one trusts Moshiri to make a good appointment.
